Sky Mobile has an iPhone 7 deal from £26 a month

Tuesday, February 6th 2018 by Marc Shoffman

Sky Mobile is giving customers a chance to get hold of an iPhone 7 for less than £30 a month.

It is offering a 32GB iPhone 7 for just £21 a month with nothing to pay upfront. You then need to add data and minutes to build your own package.

A 500MB data deal costs £5 a month, taking you to just £26 on a 12-month contract. If you are already a Sky TV customer, you will get free calls and minutes, giving you a pretty cheap monthly contract for a top-of-the-range phone.

Non-Sky TV customers will need to pay an extra £10 a month, taking the total cost to £36, which is still pretty competitive compared with the rest of the market.

You can also select a pay as you use option charging 10p per call and 10p per text.

One issue you may run into is the low amount of data, 500MB won’t get you very far if you are downloading lots of music or taking lots of pictures.

There is also a 1GB data deal for £10 a month, taking the total monthly cost for Sky TV customers to £31, or £41 for non-customers.

Sky TV customers get £10 a month discount

You can get a 5GB plan for £15 a month, meaning Sky TV customers would pay £36 and others would pay £46, or for £10GB at £20, giving Sky TV users a handset for £51 a month, while non-Sky TV customers would pay £61.

Sky Mobile users get some nice extras as well. You can rollover and store data to reuse for up to three years and Sky+ customers can sync recordings onto their handset.

The iPhone7 may not be the latest Apple model but it is still among the best, offering a splash and water-resistant phone with a pocket-sized 4.7-inch handset.

There is also a 12MP wide-angle dual lens on the back for perfect pictures and a 7MP camera on the front for Facetime and selfies.

These are decent offers, particularly for those with low data needs, and you get the added benefit of paying nothing upfront.

But these are really best if you are already a Sky TV customer. Others may want to shop around a bit more.

In comparison, you could pay nothing upfront with Tesco Mobile on a longer 30-month contract for £29.49 a month that gives you 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data. That is double the amount of data than Sky’s lowest priced deal for just around £3.50 more a month.

Tesco Mobile also has a 4GB version with 1,000 minutes and 5,000 texts for £30.49 a month.

If you were willing to pay £50 upfront, giffgaff offers unlimited minutes, text and data for £44.28 a month on a 24-month contract.

Alternatively, Three won’t charge anything upfront and provides unlimited texts, minutes and data for £79 a month on a 24-month deal.
