Sky offers unlimited broadband for £5 per month

Tuesday, March 29th 2016 by Cable.co.uk

Sky is offering half price unlimited broadband for a short time only.

Customers signing up to Sky Broadband Unlimited will get it half price for the first 12 months if they order before midnight on Thursday 14 April.

Sky has reduced the price of its unlimited broadband package to £5 per month for both new customers and those who have already got Sky TV.

Subscribers to Sky broadband without TV will also get a £75 M&S voucher when they order online.

For customers who live in an area that’s been upgraded to fibre broadband, Sky Fibre Unlimited is now £10 per month for six months. The monthly cost reverts back to the standard price of £20 per month thereafter.

This offer is only available to customers who don’t subscribe to Sky TV.

Fibre broadband up to 38Mbps

Sky Fibre provides broadband speeds of up to 38Mbps as opposed to standard broadband from Sky, which is only up to 17Mbps. Standard broadband is unlimited whereas fibre comes with a 25GB monthly usage allowance.

New customers will also receive a Sky Hub router, Sky’s Broadband Shield internet security software and unlimited free access to Sky wi-fi.

Both unlimited broadband and fibre broadband customers will need to pay a line rental price of £17.40 per month on top of the package cost.

Earlier this month, Sky opened up its next-generation TV service Sky Q to non-broadband customers.

The service launched in February and was previously only available to existing Sky broadband customers or new customers signing up to a Sky Q bundle that included Sky broadband.

Sky Q, billed as the next generation of TV viewing, allows you to watch different programmes on up to five screens simultaneously while also recording four other channels. You can also download shows to your tablet to watch offline.

Last week Sky revealed that the prices of its TV packages will change on 1 June and may rise by up to 10% in a minimum contract term. It has not yet announced any future price changes to its broadband packages.
