Save up to £13.99 a month with Sky fibre broadband deals
Sky’s Fibre Max and Sky Fibre Unlimited broadband packages have been discounted by £13.99 in a new offer that is now available.
The offer also applies to the Sky Fibre package where you’ll make a saving of £8.99 a month and £2 a month with Sky Broadband Limited if you choose to sign up before Thursday 7 December.
Sky Fibre Max , which was £43.99 a month, now has a monthly cost of £30 for download speeds up to 76Mbps. The cost of set-up has also been brought down to £29.95. If you go for this package during the offer period you’ll make a saving of £167.88 over the course of your first year.
The provider says it can guarantee you will receive speeds of at least 55Mbps or you can leave your contract penalty-free.
Up to 76Mbps is the fastest speed you can get from any internet provider operating on Openreach’s infrastructure.
It’s perfect for larger households to use the internet all at the same time for a range of activities like streaming, video calls and gaming. If you often download a lot of content or send and receive large files regularly, it is well worth investing in higher broadband speeds.
For a limited time the Sky Fibre Unlimited has been reduced from £38.99 a month to £25 a month with a one-off £29.95 upfront payment to cover set up. This will give you download speeds up to 38 Mbps with unlimited usage.
Sky Fibre is £20 a month down from a monthly charge of £28.99. Just like the other packages there is a set-up cost of £29.95. You’ll be able to connect to the internet with speeds up to 38Mbps but there is a usage allowance of 25GB. If you go over your allowance you could incur an extra charge.
The lowest speed you can get is up to 17Mbps. This is available with Sky’s Broadband Unlimited package for £18 a month over a 12-month contract. The set-up fee for this package is £19.95.
Smaller households of one or two will benefit from 17Mbps speeds. It’s just enough for you to carry out the regular activities like checking Facebook, streaming Netflix and keeping on top of your emails.
The small print
These packages are broadband-only and do not include TV or inclusive calls. You’ll also get a Sky Q Hub free of charge. All of Sky’s fibre packages are for a minimum contract term of 18 months.
All of Sky's packages have been boosted with a free £50 prepaid Mastercard . To claim your free prepaid Mastercard you have to go onto Sky’s website 90 days after your broadband has been set up. You can only claim one card per household and Sky says the availability is ‘subject to stock’ so there is a possibility that you may not receive one.
If you do get one you can use it at any shop that accepts Mastercard. You’ll have a year after it was printed to use it up otherwise it will expire.
All broadband packages have line-rental so you can make calls but will be charged per minute for each call. To add evening and weekend calls it’s an extra £4 a month and £8 for Anytime Extra which lets you make unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles.
Sky Talk Shield is a bonus feature of all the packages and acts as a personalised call-screening service that lets you answer calls you recognise and block the numbers that you don't.
Sky Broadband Shield gives you added protection against phishing and malware-infected sites when surfing the net.
How to get TV
Once you’ve added your chosen broadband plan to your online basket you’ll get the chance to add extra features to your package. Here is where you can add Sky TV if you want to.
The Original bundle costs £20 a month and give you more than 290 TV channels.
For more channels and shows to keep the kids occupied, the Variety bundle has more than 32 channels with 4,500 episodes of kids' shows for £25 a month.
If you’re looking for all of the above plus access to more than 350 box sets, the Box Sets bundle for £31 a month is your best bet.
For each bundle it’s an extra £20 for the Sky Q 1TB TV box . So for example, if you choose to add the Original bundle to your Sky Fibre Max broadband package you’ll pay £50 a month and a £39.95 set up fee.
