Sky Sports deal offers two football channels for £18 and free Sky Sports HD

Friday, February 23rd 2018 by Steve McCaskill

Want to watch all the football, but think Sky Sports is too expensive? Then you should consider Sky's latest flash offer.

For a limited time only, you can get both Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Football – both in HD – for £18 a month if you take out a Sky Entertainment bundle for £20 a month, complete with Sky Q.

Sky Sports Premier League shows 126 live and exclusive matches a season, while Sky Sports Football broadcasts the EFL, Scottish leagues, La Liga and League Cup.

If you only want to take out one of the football channels, then you can also add Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena for the same price. Both channels show a mixture of live rugby league, tennis, darts, NFL, wrestling and boxing. This includes the Kell Brook v and Sergey Rabchenko and Deontay Wilder v Luis Ortiz fights on 3 March.

The deal requires you to sign up to a minimum 18-month deal, after which the monthly cost increases. But the total savings across the lifetime of the deal should amount to £180. You’ll have to act quick as the offer ends on 26 February.

Last year, Sky Sports reorganised its portfolio into sports-specific channels. Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix make up the rest.

Pick and choose

The idea is that customers who might be interested in football but not any other sport can pick and choose which channels they subscribe to. A single channel usually costs £18 a month, while two channels are £22 and three channels are £26.

You can subscribe to all 10 channels, including Sky Sports Main Event, for £28 a month. Upgrading to HD usually costs £6 extra a month.

Sky Entertainment includes free-to-air satellite channels, alongside premium channels such as Sky Atlantic, MTV and FOX. On top of this you can add Sky Box Sets, which offers more than 300 shows, for £5 and Sky Cinema, which includes more than 1,000 films to watch live and on-demand, for £10.

Kids channels are an extra £5 a month, and gives you access to the Sky Kids application.

As for Sky Q, it’s the broadcaster’s most advanced television platform. Viewers can watch up to six shows while recording a seventh if they have the 2TB edition of the Sky Q box, which can store up to 1,000 hours of HD.

Multiscreen is an additional £12. This allows you to watch live TV and recordings on a compatible smartphone or tablet, while one complimentary Sky Q Mini box lets you watch programmes on another television in another room.

As many as four Sky Q Mini boxes can be connected to a single Sky Q box, although this will incur additional costs, and they even act as wi-fi signal boosters for Sky broadband customers.

Sky’s NOW TV streaming service is another way to get Sky Sports Premier League. For £33.99 a month you get access to all Sky Sports channels for an entire month, while a day pass costs £6.99 and a week pass is £13.99.
