Sky takes 33% off its TV bundles
Sky is offering a 33% discount on selected TV bundles to new customers who sign-up online.
From now until midnight on 11 February, new TV customers will also get a choice of reward worth £25 (either a Tesco or M&S gift card or prepaid Mastercard) with their discounted bundle.
Sky offers six bundles starting from £20 per month: The Original, The Variety, The Family, The Movies, The Sports and The Complete.
All bundles require a minimum 12-month subscription and a £10 one-off installation fee is payable.
With the discount, the lowest-priced bundle The Original is now £13.40 per month and Sky’s top TV package The Complete bundle is £52.48 per month instead of £75.75.
Sky TV comes with 240 free-to-air channels and a range of entertainment channels, which vary depending on the package you choose. Sky Movies and Sky Sports are available as add-ons, as well as kids shows, box sets and HD channels.
Free broadband for 12 months
Customers moving to Sky can also add 12 months free Broadband Unlimited to any TV bundle. This offer is available until midnight on 25 February.
Customers taking Sky broadband only will receive a £75 M&S e-voucher.
Sky is also running a deal for existing TV customers who want to upgrade. From now until 18 February, customers upgrading to the family bundle will pay half price for 12 months.
Last week, Sky launched its much-anticipated ‘next generation’ TV service Sky Q. The service will allow customers to record three shows and watch a fourth live, stream TV around their home using the Sky Q app and download shows to their tablet to watch offline.
Sky Q packages will start from £42 per month, with a one-off set-up fee of £99. For existing Sky+ customers the monthly cost will be “around £12 extra compared with their current Sky+ package”, according to a statement from the provider.
The launch came as Sky announced its financial results for the second half of 2015. The provider reported 337,000 new customers – its highest UK and Ireland customer growth for 10 years. Its revenue grew by 5% to £5.7bn, with its profits up 12% to £747m during the period.
