Sony Xperia XA2 with free headphones on iD Mobile

Need a new phone with a powerful camera but don’t want to break the bank? Then iD Mobile has quite the deal for you.

From £19.99 a month, you can get your hands on the Sony Xperia XA2 smartphone for £19.99 and what’s more, iD will throw in a pair of wireless headphones worth £168.99 too.

The Sony Xperia XA2 debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this month, offering premium smartphone functionality without the price tag.

The device has a 5.2 full HD display, which is ideal for displaying photos taken with the 23 megapixel rear-facing camera and selfies captured from the eight megapixel front facing lens. Sony has incorporated technology from its Cybershot range to its mobile in recent years, so there are plenty of imaging features to help you take quality photos.

The XA2 is powered by Android 8.0 Oreo, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory that can be supplemented by a MicroSD card of up to 256GB. There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device for secure login and a long lasting battery.

Audio is boosted by Smart Amplifier, Clear Audio+ and Clear Bass technology for rich sound quality. Which is just as well as you’ll have a fancy new pair of headphones to listen to music and podcasts on.

Optimised sound

The h.ear on 2 Mini Wireless offer high resolution audio, one touch Bluetooth connectivity and a dedicated app for you to optimise your sound.

There are a range of contracts to go with the Xperia XA2. The first is £19.99 a month and comes with 500MB of data, 600 minutes and 5,000 texts. The second is £21.99 a month and includes 1GB of data, 600 minutes and 5,000 texts, and you can boost this to 2GB for £23.99 or 4GB for £25.99.

All contracts are subject to a minimum 24 month term.

iD Mobile is operated by Carphone Warehouse and launched in 2015. It is one of several ‘virtual’ mobile networks that use one of the main four networks – EE, O2, Three and Vodafone – to deliver its services. iD uses Three’s network, meaning a 3G or 4G connection is available to 97% of the UK population.

Its deals include EU roaming, free delivery and the ability to set caps for out-of-contract charges. There’s also data rollover so any data you don’t use in a single month is carried over to the next one.

The Sony Xperia XA2 is also available from Three, which is offering the device for £29 with a £24 a month deal complete with 1GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts. It will also give you a free pair of headphones, too.

O2 isn't stocking the phone just yet, but will be the only place in the UK to get it in silver.
