Superdrug to launch mobile service running on Three's network
Superdrug has teamed up with Three to launch a mobile service exclusively for members of its loyalty scheme.
Superdrug Mobile will offer a simple no-contract service that gives you 4GB of data, unlimited calls and unlimited texts for £10 a month, with any unused data being rolled over into the following month’s allowance.
Customers will be able to top up their allowance by paying £2 for an additional 1GB of data, £3 for an extra 2GB or £5 for a 4GB boost.
Customers will be able to sign up for the new service either online or in-store from 20 June. In order to do so you’ll need to be a member of Superdrug’s Health and Beautycard scheme, which is free to join and lets you earn points for your purchases as well as offering discounts on selected items.
Health and Beautycard members also signed up to Superdrug Mobile will get double loyalty points on all purchases.
Superdrug Mobile will become the latest MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) to use Three’s network, joining the likes of Carphone Warehouse’s iD Mobile service and Three’s own value offering SMARTY.
“We are very excited about Superdrug Mobile, which is a great example of an already strong brand further strengthening its customer engagement model through a mobile offering,” said Three’s director of wholesale, Lynda Burton.
“We worked closely together on the complex task of integrating their loyalty scheme into a mobile offering to deliver a great product. We understand that brand owners are not always telecoms experts, so we make things simple so that our partners can focus on managing their customers while we take care of everything else.”
Three launched SMARTY in September 2017, calling it the simplest and most flexible in the UK. It charges a standard amount per gigabyte of data whether it’s included in your plan or not.
Vodafone also launched a new MVNO last September, offering unlimited access to social media apps such as Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram with every plan on VOXI, which is aimed at smartphone users aged 29 and below.
