TalkTalk extends Kids TV deal in run up to Christmas

Friday, December 1st 2017 by Oprah Flash

Christmas season has officially arrived and with the festive spirit in the air TalkTalk has extended its offer on the Kids TV Bundle.

It’s not long until the kids break up for the Christmas half-term and when you’re rushed off your feet getting all the shopping and present wrapping done, you’ll need something to keep them occupied. That’s where TalkTalk’s Kids TV package could come in handy.

For £30.95 a month you can get Fast Broadband, a TV Plus box with Kids Boost, a Kids Remote and TV Entertainment Boost.

This all gives you download speeds up to 17Mbps with a range of kids channels to choose from including Nickelodeon and Disney Jr, as well as some channels that adults can enjoy.

The Kids Remote lets younger kids choose which channel they want to watch while you have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you control exactly what content they can access.

The Kids TV Bundle is spread across a 12-month contract and there’s no set-up fee to pay. For the TV box there’s a one-off £25 charge and you'll also be charged £5 for the Kids Remote.

TalkTalk has decided to continue waiving set-up fees on its broadband and fibre packages.

No set-up fee on broadband packages

Fast Broadband on its own, with speeds up to 17Mbps, is currently £19.95 a month over a 12-month contract. There is no set-up cost and you’ll get unlimited usage throughout the term of your contract.

For the same monthly price TalkTalk is offering the Fast Broadband and TV bundle on a 12-month contract. The only different in overall price is the £25 to cover the cost of the TV box. The TV add-on gives you access to more than 80 freeview channels and comes with a TV box that allows you to pause and rewind shows.

You may be thinking most TVs these days come with Freeview built in, which is true but if you have a slightly more seasoned (older) TV then you may welcome the extra channels. You’ll also be able to access on-demand services including BBC iPlayer and All 4 to catch up on programmes you missed during the week.

The TV box allows you to watch Netflix straight from your TV, providing you already have a subscription. If not, they start at £5.99 a month and you can currently get a free trial that lasts a month.

If you want a TV broadband package that gives you more options, TalkTalk’s Fast Broadband with TV Plus and 30 Extra Entertainment channels might be worth looking into. You’ll get all of the features mentioned above plus extra premium channels including Sky One, Sky Sports News and Nat Geo Wild.

This bundle will cost you £25.95 a month on an annual contract plus £25 for the TV Box. The TV box that comes with this package has more tech than the box offered with the standard TV and broadband package. This one allows you to record shows to watch later, as well as pause and rewind.

Download speeds up to 17Mbps from TalkTalk is best suited to smaller households who only use the internet for browsing, internet shopping and streaming music.

TalkTalk’s Faster Fibre Broadband with connection speeds up to 38Mbps is now £27.50 a month over an 18-month contract. Again, there are no set-up fees to pay with this broadband plan. The TV and Faster Fibre Broadband bundle is the same price with the additional £25 for the TV Box.

If you like the sound of premium channels but want a faster broadband connection TalkTalk’s Faster Fibre with TV Plus and 30 Extra Entertainment channels is £33.50 a month on a 18-month contract with no set-up fee and a one-off payment of £25 for the TV Box.

A fibre broadband will be faster and more reliable than a basic broadband connection (ADSL). With speeds up to 38Mbps you and your family can stream and download more content online and use multiple devices simultaneously.

You have until Thursday 21 December to sign up to these packages.
