TalkTalk launches free unlimited broadband for a year
TalkTalk is now offering one year’s unlimited broadband free to all new customers.
TalkTalk’s basic broadband package, SimplyBroadband, will be free for the first 12 months of an 18-month contract. After a year the monthly cost will rise to £7.50 per month.
SimplyBroadband provides speeds of up to 17Mbps but customers living in a fibre-enabled area can get fibre broadband from TalkTalk, which delivers speeds of up to 38Mbps.
Customers who can get fibre broadband will be able to sign up to unlimited fibre from TalkTalk for £10 per month for the first year.
The monthly cost will then revert to the standard price of £17.50 for the remainder of the contract.
TalkTalk is also running offers on selected TV packages. Plus TV is now half price for 12 months, this means it now costs £10 per month instead of the standard £20 per month.
Plus TV gives you access to 80 Freeview channels, including 12 in HD, via the YouView set-top box.
25% off Essentials TV
New customers can get 25% off TalkTalk’s basic TV package, Essentials TV, for the first six months, meaning it’s just £7.50 per month. After this period the monthly cost rises to £10 for the remaining 12 months of the contract.
Like Plus TV, Essentials TV includes 80 Freeview channels (12 in HD), but it also includes 11 Sky Movies channels.
All TV bundles include unlimited broadband and anytime calls. The Plus TV bundle also boasts a free TalkTalk Mobile SIM.
You can also add fibre broadband to any TV package. With Plus TV it costs £20 per month for 12 months (£30 per month thereafter) and with Essentials TV it’s £5 per month for 12 months, then £20 per month.
All four offers are available from now until Thursday 26 May. Customers must place orders online to receive a discount. A monthly line rental fee of £17.70 is payable on all TV and broadband packages.
TalkTalk have also brought back free Love2Shop vouchers on all products. Any customer signing up to SimplyBroadband, Essentials TV, Plus TV or Fibre Broadband online before Thursday 14 April will receive a £75 Love2Shop giftcard.
TalkTalk is the third most complained-about broadband provider according to Ofcom's complaint data for the last quarter, with 31 complaints per 100,000 customers. This dropped from 33 the previous quarter, despite TalkTalk's data breach in October.
