TalkTalk to sponsor X Factor

Tuesday, August 4th 2009 by Cable.co.uk

Broadband firm TalkTalk is to sponsor the latest series of The X Factor with new graffiti-style ads.

Broadband provider TalkTalk is to promote its services by sponsoring the upcoming series of The X Factor.

In a statement, the company said that this move marks its status as the biggest supplier of broadband to UK homes following the acquisition of Tiscali UK last month.

The firm will be using a brightly-coloured graffiti–style ad campaign and will give viewers the chance to send in their own "bright dances" to be broadcast during the show idents.

Nearer the show's launch, it will be offering its customers themed X Factor products, downloadable X Factor parties and the chance to win tickets to the live show.

Olivia Streatfeild, marketing director at TalkTalk, said: "We are really excited to kick off our sponsorship of the nation's favourite entertainment programme and we can't wait to bring the magic of The X Factor to our four million customers."

Earlier this week, it was reported that TalkTalk is planning a new fibre optic broadband trial for residents of Muswell Hill in London and Whitchurch in Cardiff, using BT Broadband's Openreach fibre-to-the-cabinet network.
