Tesco Mobile deal offers double data on selected iPhone 7 tariffs

Thursday, February 22nd 2018 by Steve McCaskill

Tesco Mobile will double the data included in some of its pay monthly plans if you get an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

The iPhone 7 debuted in 2016 as the then-latest flagship Apple smartphone, boasting a 4.7-inch display, a 12 megapixel camera and the TouchID fingerprint sensor that can be used to unlock the device or make payments via Apple Pay.

In addition to a more advanced processor and software, the iPhone 7 also includes ‘3D touch’ which reacts to how much force you apply to the screen when you touch it. This allows developers to add new functionality to their apps and makes iOS quicker and easier to use.

The iPhone 7 Plus is largely the same device but comes with a larger 5.5-inch Retina Display and boasts a longer battery life.

A 32GB iPhone 7 is £24.36 a month when you take out a two-year contract and £19.49 a month if you opt for a 30 month deal. The iPhone 7 Plus is £29.99 over 24 months or £23.99 with a 30-month contract. Models with more storage are more expensive.

On top of this cost, you will of course need a price plan.

Price plans start at £10 a month

The cheapest deal is £10 a month, which comes with 1GB of data, 500 minutes and 5,000 texts. But if you opt for an £11 tariff, you will get 5,000 texts, 1,000 minutes and 4GB of data – double the usual 2GB.

For £12.50 a month, Tesco will give you 5,000 texts, 1,500 minutes and double the usual 3GB of data to 6GB.

There are other tariffs to choose from if you need more calls and texts. For £15, you get 3,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and 4GB, while the £18 tariff provides 6GB of data, 5,000 minutes and 5,000 texts.

If it’s more data that you need, £23 gets you 12GB, £28 affords you 20GB, £32 provides 25GB and £35 earns a huge 30GB allowance. All of these plans have 5,000 minutes and 5,000 texts inclusive.

Tesco Mobile launched in 2003 as a joint venture between Tesco and O2. It is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), meaning it uses O2’s network to deliver its services to customers. O2’s 4G network is now available to 97% of the UK population, so there’s no need to worry about coverage.

If you want to join Tesco Mobile without getting an iPhone, then the operator is doubling the data on some of its SIM-Only plans too.

For £7.50 you can get 500MB, up from 250MB, as well as 5,000 texts and 500 minutes or you can get 1GB, 250 minutes and 5,000 texts.

There’s also a £9 tariff that comes with 1GB of data, 500 minutes and 5,000 texts or 2GB, 250 minutes and 5,000 texts.

All the SIM-only deals are subject to a 24-month contract.
