The LG G7 Thinq in Moroccan Blue will be exclusive to O2
The LG G7 Thinq hasn’t hit UK shelves yet but O2 has already confirmed it will be the only supplier to stock the handset in Moroccan Blue.
The phone was launched this week in both New York and Seoul, and the features that took centre stage were the built-in AI technology, Super Bright large display and Boombox Speaker.
In total, there are four colours available – New Platinum Gray, New Aurora Black, New Moroccan Blue and Raspberry Rose – but the Moroccan Blue will be exclusive to O2.
It will be released in South Korea first, then LG will roll it out to North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia, so as soon as we have a confirmed date for the UK we’ll let you know how you can get your hands on it.
“Now is the time when manufacturers have to pay close attention to what customers actually need and want for their smartphones,” said Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Mobile.
“With the LG G7 ThinQ, LG is continuing to deliver on its promise to enhance core technologies to meet customers’ real life needs by incorporating AI technologies that are more than features, they are part of the user experience.”
Mobile enthusiasts and reviewers at TechRadar have described LG’s latest flagship phone as a “reasonable but not significant upgrade”, of the older LG G6.
What to expect from the LG G7 ThinQ
LG says it has put the most vibrant screen of any of its devices into its latest release. Operating on Android, the LG G7 Thinq features a Super Bright 6.1-inch Quad HD+ FullVision display.
AI technology is on everybody’s lips at the moment. Whether you love it, or find it a bit spooky, you’ll find it built in to most phones that have been released this year. The LG G7’s 16MP dual camera will automatically sense the lighting conditions and change the settings for professional-looking photos. This is a feature that has been executed very well by the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Huawei P20 Pro so it will be interesting to see how the LG G7 Thinq measures up.
Another part of the spec that LG has hyped up is the speakers. The Boombox Speaker feature uses the phone’s body to amplify sound, creating high-quality, loud, bassy audio on the go.
The thing you really want to know is, will it store all your music, pictures and apps? In short, yes it will as internally there is up to 64GB of storage which you can expand you to 2TB with the help of a microSD card.
We don’t know how much it will cost yet but at the moment the LG G6 is £33 a month and £9.99 upfront for 1GB of data with unlimited calls and texts.
