Best O2 and EE deals for the Samsung Galaxy S8 Rose Pink version

Friday, January 5th 2018 by Oprah Flash

Hands up if you have been waiting for a pink version of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Well, the wait is over as this week Samsung released a Rose Pink edition of its latest flagship phone.

The new version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus joins the Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Coral Blue and Arctic Silver colours that are already available.

If you’re not as excited as we are no worries, the traditional colours are also still available.

Although the phone has often been criticised for being too expensive, it does pack some impressive tech and features that make it a serious contender for the top spot of the smartphone market.

The design is undeniably stylish with a rounded-corner Gorilla Glass screen and Infinity Display. The 5.8-inch quad HD+ screen has been commended for its clear, crisp display, perfect for streaming Netflix or playing games. The Android phone runs on an Octa Core 64-bit processor so you can expect a device that speedily switches between apps and processes content on the phone.

Another feature that you can brag about if you go ahead with the purchase is the dual 12MP rear camera. It gives the iPhone a run for its money when it comes to taking high quality pictures. There’s 64GB of internal memory to store all your photos and apps on your phone and the room to expand it with an SD card up to 256GB.

Last year with the release of the iPhone X there was a lot of buzz about facial, iris and fingerprint scanners. This phone has eye-pattern recognition technology that allows you to unlock your phone and pay for your online shopping all by simply glancing at your phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has iris scanner technology for added security

The tech that you can buy to accompany the phone is also pretty cool. Gaming fans may like the Gear VR and Gear 360 that transform your handset into a virtual reality device. The wireless charging capability is another feature that comes with the phone.

O2: 10GB for £51 a month

So far O2 and EE have confirmed they will be stocking the phone but the date on which it will become available has not yet been revealed.

O2 has quite a wide range of tariffs available for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and how you decide on the best one for you depends on how much data you’d like and how much cash you’re willing to part with upfront.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s flagship phone at the moment and it's packed with tech features so a data heavy tariff would be ideal.

When you pay £19.99 upfront you can get 10GB of data with unlimited minutes and texts for £51 a month. For double the amount of data you’ll pay just a fiver more a month through O2 as the 20GB tariff costs £56 a month and has the same upfront cost.

To reduce the monthly cost you could pay more upfront. For the 10GB tariff it’s £48 a month when you pay £89.99 upfront and you’ll also get O2’s standard unlimited texts and minutes.

The 20GB package is £53 a month when you pay the higher upfront cost of £89.99 a month.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also avaialble in Midnight Black, Orchid Grey and Coral Blue

O2 has a treat for you if you are an existing customer, when you choose to upgrade to a 10GB tariff or higher, O2 will give you an extra 10GB of data for free. This means you could end up paying £51 a month for 20GB with £19.99 upfront.

With this handset O2 is offering you the chance to flex your data, meaning you can change your airtime tariff once a month if you think you might need more or less data.

Becoming an O2 customer also gives you access to O2 Priority with exclusive discounts on tickets and retail offers. All contracts last 24 months and will be split into a Device Plan and Airtime Plan

EE: Free Apple Music and BT Sport app

EE’s plans are a bit easier to get your head around. You can choose between a 4GEE Essential, 4GEE and 4GEE Max plan.

EE claims its best selling plan for the Samsung Galaxy S8 is a 4GEE Max Plan. This gives you 3GB of data with unlimited texts and minutes for £47.99 a month when you pay £9.99 upfront. Being a Max Plan it will also allow you to use your calls, data and texts in five countries outside of the EU including Australia and the USA.

With a phone as high-end as the Samsung Galaxy S8 you’re going to need more data to make the most of its features. The 8GB 4GEE Max Plan is £52.99 a month with the unlimited calls and texts, as a Max Plan it also gives you faster 4G with download speeds up to 90Mbps. As with the plan mentioned above there is an upfront cost of £9.99.

They say go big or go home so if you want a plan with a huge data allowance from EE then the 40GB 4GEE Max Plan is £62.99 a month with £9.99 to pay on the day of purchase.

EE do offer some cheaper deals such as the 4GEE Plan with 1GB for £42.99 a month and £49.99 to pay upfront but we would not recommend this package as it’s not good value for money and you could easily go over your data allowance, which can have expensive consequences.

As a bonus for being with EE you’ll get six months of free Apple Music and 24 months of access to the BT Sport app with the Max Plan packages and three months with 4GEE and 4GEE Essential. All pay-monthly phone contracts from EE last 24 months.
