Virgin Media appoints new advertising agency

Wednesday, May 5th 2010 by Cable.co.uk

Fibre optic broadband provider Virgin Media has appointed DDB UK to take control of its £75 million advertising account.

Virgin Media has appointed a new advertising agency to control promotions for its range of fibre optic cable broadband, digital TV and home phone bundles.

DDB UK has been given responsibility for the £75 million account, seeing off competition from a number of rival agencies including Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R, Rapier and Spike.

Ashley Stockwell, executive director of brand and marketing at Virgin Media, said its previous campaigns, including its Amazing HD promotion, showcase the range of work it often collaborates with agencies on.

He added: "As the digital world rapidly evolves, we'll deliver a brilliantly simple consumer experience and working with DDB UK, one of the UK's leading integrated agencies, we'll make a real impact with a compelling, integrated message across all of our channels."

Virgin Media launched the first advertising campaign for its high definition TV service over the weekend.

The ad debuted in a slot during Britain's Got Talent on ITV1 and ITV1 HD.
