Virgin Media Cloud offers up to 500GB of online storage
A new online storage service is now available to Virgin Media broadband customers.
Virgin Media has announced the launch of a new online storage service that allows its broadband customers to instantly save and share content from any internet-enabled device, wherever they are.
Known as Virgin Media Cloud, the feature gives users the opportunity to store up to 500GB of pictures, video, music and other files and share this content via email, Facebook and Twitter.
The new service has been developed with digital security specialist F-Secure to automatically back up a customer's content in the cloud, meaning they will be able to access it easily even if their laptop, smartphone or tablet is lost or stolen.
Up to ten people in each Virgin Media household can sign up for an account and take advantage of 5GB of free storage.
A range of tiers are available, allowing users to store as many as 125,000 songs, half a million photos or 700 standard-definition movies.
Joe Lathan, Head of Virgin Media's Broadband and Home Phone division, explained: "We know our customers are using more internet-enabled gadgets at home than ever before – with an average of five devices connecting to each of our Super Hubs – and they're sharing their photos and videos with friends and family around the world."
