Virgin Media has a sale on its Full House TV and broadband deal

Tuesday, March 13th 2018 by Oprah Flash

Who doesn’t love a good sale? If the answer is not you, then look away now because Virgin Media has discounted the price of its Full House bundle.

The monthly price has been knocked down to £49 a month with a £20 activation fee.

What do you get for your money? Well, it comes with both broadband and a TV package. Firstly, you get Virgin’s VIVID 100 with unlimited downloads up to 100Mbps. This works well for larger households of five or more people. You also get inclusive weekend calls to UK landlines.

The TV part of the bundle gives you more than 230 channels including Disney Channel, Sky One and Sky Living. Sports fans rejoice, you get all the BT Sport channels in HD so you can stay up-to-date with the UEFA Champions League.

This all comes on Virgin’s hi-tech TV V6 box which the provider claims is the, "smallest, smartest and fastest yet." You can watch on-demand and box sets as well as access Netflix through the box. It allows you to pause, rewind and record live TV.

Save up to £252 in the sale

If you sign up now you’ll pay £49 a month then after your 12-month contract is up the price will go up to £70 a month. When you work out the difference between the new price and the price outside of the contract the saving adds up to £252.

Virgin runs broadband off of its own cabling so the speeds available are different to those using Openreach’s infrastructure.

When it comes to TV packages, Sky remains the most popular option. At the end of last year it changed the structure of its TV bundles. It amalgamated them into one Sky Entertainment pack for £20 a month. To add Unlimited Fibre Max broadband, with speeds up to 76Mbps, as well as Sky Box Sets the monthly cost goes up to £55 a month with a £29.95 upfront cost. Included in this you’ll get the biggest range of TV channels with 370 to choose from.

The catch here is, it doesn’t include free sports channels like Virgin’s Full House bundle. To add Sky Sports it’s an extra £20 a month.

BT offers a package that closely resembles the Full House bundle. The BT Unlimited Infinity 2 with calls and TV Max. This will set you back £61.99 a month with £19.99 to pay upfront.

This give you unlimited broadband with speeds up to 76Mbps along with up to 141 channels plus free BT Sport in HD. Other channels bundled into the package include, but are not limited to Nickelodeon, MTV and the National Geographic Channel. The YouView+ UHD box allows you to pause and rewind live TV, as well as record up to 600 hour of your favourite shows.

Once you get over the hefty cost the reward card preloaded with £175 cashback might help to bring your blood pressure back down. You have to apply for it 30 days after your service is set-up then, you’re free to spend it with any retailer that accepts Mastercard.

Despite the chucky channel list from Sky and the cashback with BT, Virgin is coming out on top as the cheapest and best value TV package of the week.
