Virgin Media rejigs digital TV channel prices

Friday, June 11th 2010 by Cable.co.uk

Digital TV provider Virgin Media has revealed it is making several changes to the price of Sky channels available through its service.

Bundle provider Virgin Media has revealed that it is amending the price of its digital TV deals.

The company, which also offers fibre optic cable broadband and home phone services, has announced that a new price structure in relation to Sky channels will be introduced at the start of July.

New and existing subscribers on the M+, L or XL deals will be able to add or keep a single Sky Sports or Sky Movies channel for £13.50 a month.

In addition, the firm will offer the Sky Sports Collection for £20.50 a month and the Sky Movies Collection for £19.50 a month.

Finally, both the Sky Sports and Sky Movies Collections will be available in a single package for £27.50 a month.

News of the changes has come after Virgin Media agreed to sell its own digital TV channels to Sky as part of a deal worth a total consideration of £160 million.
