Virgin Media viewers get access to ITV1+1 tonight

Tuesday, January 11th 2011 by Cable.co.uk

The variant of ITV's flagship channel will hit the air at 20:00 GMT.

Virgin Media viewers will be able tune in to a time-shifted version of ITV1 from tonight (January 11th 2011).

The channel will be launched across digital TV platforms such as Virgin, Sky, Freesat and Freeview from 20:00 GMT and will be available to watch in England and Wales.

In Scotland, STV+1 will also hit the air for the first time today, while Northern Irish audiences will get access to UTV+1.

As the title of the stations suggest, each will broadcast the same content as ITV's flagship channel - ITV1 - an hour later than it first airs.

It will give people a chance to catch up on shows such as Coronation Street, The Biggest Loser and Dancing On Ice if they missed them first time round.

ITV1+1 will appear at position 114 on the Virgin Media electronic programme guide, while Sky customers will need to flick to channel 131 - the current home of ITV2+1, which will move to number 179.
