Freeview HD customers gain access to Vision TV Network

International TV services are now available to Freeview HD customers via the Vision TV Network.

Vision 247 has announced the launch of its Vision TV Network, which gives Freeview HD customers the chance to access live streamed international broadcasts via their TV.

All Freeview HD devices that are linked to a broadband connection are able to take advantage of the new service, which is now available at channel 110 on the free-to-air platform's electronic programme guide.

It features a network of local language TV channel packages, including Polska Plus, TeleFrance, Hellenic and TeleTurk, respectively aimed at Polish, French, Greek and Turkish viewers.

Vision 247 has insisted "many more channels" will be added to its service in the future.

John Mills, chief executive of Vision IPTV, said the proposition adds value to Freeview HD by offering users more content and a different way to watch TV.

"This service extends the scope of Freeview HD, offering users more channels to choose from and broadcasters the opportunity to take advantage of Freeview HD as a more engaged and economically viable route to a wider audience," he added.

Earlier this week, Freeview announced sales of its HD TVs and set-top boxes hit 1.3 million units in the final quarter of last year, taking the customer base to 4.4 million.
