Vodafone boosts iPhone X deals with extra 10GB of data

Thursday, November 2nd 2017 by Oprah Flash

The highly anticipated iPhone X hits shelves tomorrow and Vodafone has boosted its deal for the new handset with an extra 10GB of data.

The mobile provider has extended the extra data offer to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus when you opt for a package of 16GB or higher.

As an added bonus the provider has also increased the warranty for the latest iPhone handsets from a year to 24 months.

You have until Wednesday 20 December to order your phone or else you’ll miss out on the extra data.

The new iPhone 8 went live for pre-order last month and was joined by the iPhone X last Friday.

Under the extended warranty offer, Vodafone is offering to repair any manufacturing faults you may have between month 13 and 24 as Apple will look after repairs for the first year.

If you have bought any Apple phone from Vodafone in the last two years you can benefit from the extended warranty.

Being on Vodafone allows you to make and receive calls without any phone signal using wi-fi calling. To get this you’ll need a Red Extra or Red Entertainment pay monthly plan.

The mobile provider says you’ll get exclusive access to Vodafone Global Roaming that allows you to use your home plan of data, minutes and texts in 110 countries across the globe.

The new iPhone X is on sale tomorrow

iPhone X with 10GB extra data from £68 a month

The handset is available from Vodafone in two colours – Silver or Space Grey. You can also get the phone with either 64GB internal storage or a mega 256GB to keep all your music, apps pictures and videos without the dreaded 'Storage Almost Full' notification.

iPhone X features Apple’s first all-screen design with a 5.8-inch Super Retina HD display with HDR and True Tone. The new handset is splash, water and dust resistant.

A feature that has sent iPhone enthusiasts into a frenzy is the new Face ID mechanism than lets you unlock your phone and use Apple Pay simply by glancing at the front camera.

A reviewer from Mashable said: “Apple’s iPhone X is the beginning of something new. Everything the iPhone X is serves as a roadmap for future iPhones.”

When you unbox your new device you’ll also get a Lightning to USB Cable, 5W USB Power Adapter and a Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter.

To get your hands on this phone the Vodafone recommends its 40GB Red Extra plan. With the free data deal you’ll get a 50GB data allowance, unlimited texts and calls for £74 a month. First of all you’ll have to part with £100 upfront.

To get the extra 10GB data allowance, the 16GB bundle is the smallest package you can get. This costs £68 a month with £150 upfront and will include 26GB, unlimited texts and minutes.

The 32GB Red Entertainment bundle is the same price as Vodafone’s recommended plan. Its £74 a month for 42GB unlimited texts and calls. With an upfront cost of £150 this bundle includes a two-year subscription to Spotify, Sky Sports or NOW TV.

The iPhone X is now available to pre-order and goes on sale from tomorrow.

The iPhone 8 is included in the free 10GB data boost offer

iPhone 8 with 10GB extra data from £60 a month

iPhone 8 has broken the mould of phone design with its all-glass screen and back. Just like the newer iPhone X the iPhone 8 has wireless charging capabilities and is water and dust resistant.

It’s smaller than the iPhone X and stands at 4.7-inches with a Retina HD display. The eighth generation of iPhone is powered by A11 Bionic which Apple describes as “the most powerful and smartest chip ever in an iPhone”.

For the iPhone 8, Vodafone recommends the 16GB Red Extra plan for £60 a month and £20 upfront. This will give you 26GB of data each month and unlimited texts and calls.

The 32GB Red Entertainment bundle is £66 a month and you’ll have to pay £20 upfront. Because it is an entertainment focused package you’ll get a 24-month subscription to Spotify, Sky Sports or NOW TV. You’ll also get 42GB of data with unlimited calls and texts.

To get 70GB of data allowance with the iPhone 8 the 60GB Red Entertainment package costs £72 a month with an upfront charge of £20. You get the standard unlimited texts and calls as well as the 2-year subscription mentioned above.

iPhone 8 Plus with 10GB extra data from £64 a month

The iPhone 8 Plus has a very similar tech spec to the iPhone 8. Apple boasts it has“the world’s most popular camera, now even better”. It also has an all glass design with wireless charging capabilities.

It is available in Gold, Silver and Space Grey. There is a 64GB version and a 256GB for extra storage.

With the extra free 10GB of data the 16GB Red Extra plan gives you a 26GB tariff for £64 a month when you pay £30 upfront.

If the entertainment perks that Vodafone offers appeal to you the most, the 32GB Red Entertainment package gives you two years of streaming Spotify, Sky Sports or NOW TV plus a 42GB data allowance for £70 with £30 upfront.

All of Vodafone’s bundles span a 24-month contract.
