Vodafone gives away free accessories with Motorola Moto Z2 Force deal

Monday, December 18th 2017 by Oprah Flash

This time next week it will be Christmas day so if you haven’t finished your Christmas shopping and you’re looking for a phone, there are still some good pay-monthly deals available to snap up.

From £28 a month, Vodafone is now selling the Motorola Moto Z2 Force, a “shatterproof” Android smartphone with a range of accessories that can transform your phone into a boombox, gaming device, powerpack and many more functions.

It seems Vodafone is full of festive cheer as it is giving away a JBL Soundboost 2, Gamepad and Turbopower Pack Mod for free when you buy the Motorola Moto Z2 Force on a pay-monthly contract. The free goodies have a combined RRP of £227.

Motorola claims the second generation of its Moto Z Force range is shatterproof meaning you won’t have to worry about the expensive bill that comes with a cracked screen if you accidently drop it. It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen so gamers and avid movie watchers may appreciate the sharper, crisper display.

Most of the phones that have been released this year will have some sort of added security feature like facial recognition or iris/fingerprint sensors. The Motorola Moto Z Force is no exception and comes with a fingerprint sensor function so you can unlock your handset with ease as well keep it safe from prying eyes.

As well as the added sensors many phones this year, like the the One Plus 5T and the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, are packing a dual camera. The Motorola Moto Z2 Force is the latest phone to double up with two 12MP camera lens for more focused pictures. On the front is a 5MP camera with LED flash for better quality selfies.

The phone runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and has 64GB of internal storage which should give you plenty of room to download your apps of choice and store your pictures and music. If not, you can extend the storage by adding a microSD card.

Free Mods

If you’re wondering what a Mod is, don’t worry we did too at first. Motorola has created a range of accessories for its handsets and called them Moto Mods. With the attachable devices you can turn your phone into a range of gadgets from a gaming console to a portable projector.

As part of the Christmas deal, Vodafone is giving away free Moto Gamepad, the Moto TurboPower pack and the JBL SoundBoost 2 Mods.

The first gives you a fuller gaming experience with more control by attaching to the phone and turning it into a console. The TurboPower pack lets you wirelessly charge your Motorola Moto Z2 Force on the go, and the JBL SoundBoost 2 is perfect for an impromptu party giving you a waterproof speaker by just attaching the Mod to your phone.

Let's talk money

Pay-monthly prices for the Motorola Moto Z2 Force from Vodafone start at £28 a month on a two year contract, but this will only get you 500MB, 500 minutes and unlimited texts. A data allowance of 500MB will be enough to send a few emails and check Facebook but you could end up going over your allowance quite easily which can end up being very expensive.

To make the most of your new smartphone and all its features a plan that offers a higher data allowance would be a good investment.

Vodafone is currently offering a 4GB Red Extra tariff for £38 a month with no upfront cost. With this you’ll get unlimited minutes and texts.

For £6 a month more (£44) you can get double the data (8GB) and extra streaming bonuses with Vodafone’s Red Entertainment. This gives you a subscription to either Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or NOW TV throughout the term of your contract.

If you’re a gamer or you know you’ll be using your phone a lot when you’re away from a wi-fi connection Vodafone is offering the handset with a 32GB tariff for £50 a month or 60GB for £56 a month. Both span a 24-month contract and there’s nothing to pay upfront.
