Vodafone launches 'data rollover' for pay as you go customers

Tuesday, December 13th 2016 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

Vodafone pay as you go customers are now able to ‘rollover’ their unused data from one month to the next.

The company has today announced the launch of Data Rollover, which it describes as an “industry first”.

In order to use the new feature, customers need to top up to renew their Big Value Bundle within the 30-day period.

Any data not used by the end of the month will then be carried over into the next 30 days.

Last month, Virgin Media announced a similar ‘data rollover’ feature for customers signing up to its new 4G plans.

And Sky Mobile, which launches soon, will allow pay monthly customers to keep their unused data for up to three years.

Glafkos Persianis, Vodafone UK’s commercial director, said: “We are delighted to be offering yet another industry first to our customers by introducing Data Rollover.

“Through listening to our customers, we’re determined to simplify our products and offer even better value for money, so that they can enjoy the UK’s winning network wherever they are.”

Vodafone has already launched a number of new features for pay as you go customers this year including mid-month upgrades, which let people renew their allowances at any time.

Customers on the £30 Big Value Bundle also get inclusive roaming, which gives them unlimited minutes, texts and picture messages – and 4GB of data a month – to use in 40 European destinations.
