Vodafone launches 'premium' 4G smartphone with new Smart Ultra 6

Vodafone has unveiled the latest addition to its range of smartphones.

The Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 is the company’s new flagship 4G device and is available for £125 on pay as you go or free on pay monthly bundles.

The phone has a 5.5 inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 615 Octa core processor.

It also has a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing ‘selfie cam’.

The Smart Ultra 6 runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and has a battery that, according to Vodafone, can last up to two days without charging.

The handset is available on a number of different bundles, of which the most expensive give customers free access to a choice of Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a NOW TV Entertainment Pass.

Dee Kaul, Vodafone’s director of terminals for the UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve sold over 70m Vodafone branded devices across the world since we started offering them in 2006.

“They’ve proved a huge success and I expect the Smart Ultra 6 will be another great addition.


“This is the most premium 4G device we’ve launched and one that I think customers will be very excited about due to its strong feature set, competitive price point and great design, it looks fantastic.”

Mr Kaul said the device combines premium features such as a long battery life and powerful processor with affordability.

He added: “I look forward to us continuing the great success we’ve had with our own branded handsets and ensuring that from our entry Vodafone branded device, the Smart first 6, to our flagship Smart Ultra 6 we offer our customers a 4G device that fits their needs.”

Vodafone has expanded its ultrafast 4G coverage to 569 cities and towns as well as thousands of smaller communities across the UK.

The Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 is available now to both consumer and business customers in anthracite. A silver version will be launching in July.

Earlier this month, Cable.co.uk reported that on the launch of Vodafone’s new broadband service.

Vodafone Connect will offer internet speeds up to 76Mbps and come with a companion mobile app promising customers far greater control over devices in the home.
