Weller celebrates takeover of Virgin Media's digital TV service

Rock legend Paul Weller has celebrated his month-long takeover of Virgin Media's Music On Demand service with a special gig.

Former Jam and Style Council frontman Paul Weller has celebrated his takeover of Virgin Media's on-demand digital TV service with a special gig.

The so-called Modfather has been featured heavily on the fibre optic cable broadband provider's on-demand TV platform throughout this month, to promote his new album Wake Up the Nation.

During the takeover, he has discussed heavily his time in the Jam and StyleCOuncil, as well as his collaborations with a range of artists while working on solo albums.

Part of the promotion saw him give a performance to around 600 fans at the Relentless Garage in Islington, London, where was joined onstage by Noel Gallagher for two songs.

Other content which has been shown via Virgin Media's digital TV service during April includes the first series of acclaimed drama True Blood, as well as films including Michael Jackson documentary This Is It and animated tale Fantastic Mr Fox.
