Anthony Joshua returns to Sky Sports Box Office next month

Thursday, September 7th 2017 by Oprah Flash

Sky Sports Box Office will show world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua defend his title against Kubrat Pulev.

The fight takes place on Saturday 28 October at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Joshua, a Sky ambassador, will be facing Bulgarian Pulev, who is often nicknamed The Cobra.

All 19 of the heavyweight champ’s victories have been knockouts. Pulev has only been defeated once in 26 fights.

This is Anthony Joshua’s first fight since he defeated Wladimir Klitschko, Dr Steelhammer, in 11 brutal rounds.

Sky Sports' head of boxing Adam Smith said: “Anthony Joshua is now one of sport’s true superstars and the stage is set for a cracking night of boxing. Is this now the AJ era?

“Many believe so after that dramatic victory over Klitschko but Pulev is big, strong and shouldn’t be underestimated.”

Prior to the pay-per-view event viewers have exclusive access to pre-fight behind the scenes footage as well as support programming that will be shown across Sky Sports channels and digital platforms.

The cost of the event will be £19.95 across all forms of booking up until midnight Friday 27 October.

After this the cost will still be £19.95 if bookings are made by remote control or online, but will cost £24.95 if booked over the phone.

An additional £2 booking fee still applies if bookings are made via a telephone agent.

Non-Sky TV customers can still have a piece of the action by purchasing access to the fight on the new Sky Sports Box Office streaming service. This is available via the NOW TV box, PC, mobile and tablet devices.

'Making sport more accessible'

Sky recently had a shake up of its sports offering so Sky TV customers now have exclusive access to 10 sports channels. Five are dedicated to the Premier League, football, cricket, golf and F1.

Other sports such as rugby union, rugby league, boxing, netball, darts and tennis will feature on Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena.

Sky Sports Main Event shows the biggest sporting events in one place. Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix are still available to all Sky TV customers.

Stephen van Rooyen, Sky UK and Ireland CEO, said: “Sport has been a major part of Sky for 26 years and we’re improving our service even further, super-serving existing customers and providing flexibility to a whole new generation of sports fans.

“We are making sport more accessible and offering even more choice; all part of our continued investment in offering Sky customers an unrivalled service.”

Existing Sky TV customers can upgrade their package to include Sky Sports from £18 a month.
