Vodafone's youth mobile brand VOXI increases its upper age limit to 29

Monday, May 14th 2018 by Phil Wilkinson-Jones

Vodafone’s youth brand has changed its mind about the age at which people are too old to become a customer.

And VOXI has generously said that anyone who does sign up to one of its mobile plans can stay with VOXI even after they reach the grand old age of 30.

VOXI was launched in September 2017 and offered a choice of 4G SIM plans to people aged 25 and under. That upper age limit has now been upped to 29, plus there’s the promise that no-one is going to get kicked out the club once they’re in their thirties.

Clearly Vodafone felt it had set the entry bar too low and that VOXI was missing out on a significant portion of its target market, but the brand’s USP remains the same – all customers get unlimited free data to use on selected social media and chat apps.

No matter what plan you choose, you’ll be able to use Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Viber without eating into your monthly allowance.

Add a video or music pass from £5 a month

Customers also have the option to add a video pass for £7 a month, which offers unlimited data to use on Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, DisneyLife, My5, TV Player, Vevo and UKTV Play, or a music pass for £5 that will let you stream endlessly on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, Amazon Music and Napster.

The passes don’t include subscriptions to any of these services, they just give you the data you need to stream them.

If you like the sound of unlimited social data but aren’t quite young enough to qualify as a VOXI customer, Virgin Mobile offers data free messaging on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Twitter with all of its 4G plans.

And for those of you who can’t stop streaming music and videos on your phone, Three offers Go Binge on a number of its mobile plans.

This gives you unlimited data to watch films and TV shows on Netflix and TV Player, listen to your favourites tunes on Apple Music, Deezer and SoundCloud and, as of a couple of weeks ago, Snap to your heart’s content on Snapchat.
