Why choose Zen Internet?

After starting out as a provider of broadband to small businesses and schools in the Rochdale area, Zen Internet now offers a variety of broadband services throughout the UK. Included in their products and services are ADSL and fibre optic deals, plus packages aimed at businesses users.

About Zen Internet

Founded by brothers Richard and Daniel Tang in 1995, Zen Internet initially provided dial-up internet access to local businesses and schools in the Rochdale area. The fledgling internet service provider could support just six simultaneous users, who shared a combined bandwidth of 65Kbps.

Within five years, Zen Internet had expanded nationally into broadband services and provided internet access to 10,000 customers. By 2010, the company had launched their first fibre optic packages and now estimates they have a customer base of approximately 90,000 people. Consumer group Which? named Zen Internet as their Recommended Broadband and Phone Provider for 2013. The company was also featured in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 between 2003 and 2006, as well as being listed in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 in 2004.

The company also secured the Best ISP award from PC Pro magazine in 2013 – the tenth time the publication has selected Zen Internet as their winner.

They currently offer five different fibre optic broadband packages, ranging from the £23 per month for their Fibre Lite service (which includes a 20GB monthly usage limit, up to 38Mbps download speeds and up to 1.9Mbps upload speeds) to the £65 per month Fibre Office Plus (1,000GB monthly usage, up to 76Mbps download and 19Mbps upload speeds).

Zen Internet also offers web and domain hosting to consumers. At the time of publication, they were rated as the third fastest internet service provider by visitors to our site who used our speed test checker. Average download speeds were found to be 15Mbps while uploads were at 3.3Mbps*. The result was determined by finding average speeds from Zen Internet consumers on both ADSL and fibre optic broadband connections.
