How to compare and buy TalkTalk TV and broadband and phone

TalkTalk offers great value broadband, TV and home phone packages. TalkTalk’s TV offering is cost effective with 80 of the nation's favourite Freeview channels, with the option to add on streaming giants like Netflix, Prime and NOW. All TalkTalk TV packs are only available bundled with broadband, so this is important to keep in mind if you are looking for a new broadband service or if you’re considering switching providers.

How do I compare different packages?

TalkTalk offers a choice of TV packages, quick fibre broadband, and call plans. Once you have decided which TV package you would like to purchase, you can then add broadband, and have the option to add on landline calls. You can use the table above to give you a breakdown of each deal.

Availability

TalkTalk’s broadband service is available in most areas, but you can use our availability checker at the top of the page to double check. Note that you can only get TalkTalk TV in conjunction with a TalkTalk broadband deal. It is not available as a standalone service.

Check the detail

Before you rush into any decisions, make sure you read the terms and conditions. These will include important information on any hidden costs, contract length and cancellation fees. It’s essential that you go through the small print before you commit to make sure you fully understand the details.

Why choose TalkTalk?

Fast and unlimited

TalkTalk offers fibre broadband with speeds averaging 38Mbps, 67Mbps, 145Mbps and even 500Mbps—all with unlimited usage. While the 38Mbps is ideal for small households, the fibre speeds are more than enough for a household that is consistently online, allowing you to stream five HD films all at the same time. With 63Mbps, you could stream up to 10 HD films at once. Speeds of 145Mbps and up are good for heavy internet users, gamers, and for those who download a lot of large files regularly.

Affordable packages

TalkTalk’s packages are some of the cheapest on the market, ideal for those who want a TV and broadband, or a TV, broadband and phone package without having to break the bank. TalkTalk does offer quite a competitive deal compared to other providers and its packages are actually good value for money. TalkTalk TV allows you to pause and rewind live TV, plus enjoy seven-day catch-up. Watch anything from the top freeview channels to BBC iPlayer and Netflix for the latest films.

Which package is right for me?

TV and Fibre 35

The Fibre 35 Browsing and Streaming Essentials pack offers subscribers over over 80 of the nation's most popular Freeview channels (including 15 HD channels), an extra 30 radio channels, along with fast browsing and streaming on 1-5 devices. This deal gives you an average download speed of up to 38Mbps, and includes free TalkTalk to TalkTalk calls and TalkTalk’s free Black Wi-Fi Hub. You have the option to upgrade the Fibre 35 bundle to include Netflix for a small monthly fee. This package is ideal for those who want a bit of everything without it costing the earth.

TV and Fibre 65

If you want a package with quicker broadband speeds, then you may want to go for this one. TV and Fibre 65 also comes with 80 Freeview channels (15 of which are HD), 30 radio channels and a download speed averaging up to 65Mbps. Again, you have the option to add on Netflix or other streaming content like Amazon Prime or NOW TV (including Sky channels and Sky Original shows) for a small monthly fee. Anytime calls can be added for a few quid extra per month as well – if you use your landline.

Ultrafast bundles

TalkTalk also offers several ultrafast bundles with lightning-fast speeds up to 500Mbps. These packs offer outstanding reliability backed by the latest UK technology, powered by TalkTalk’s award-winning Wi-Fi Hub. These plans also come with the standard 80+ freeview channels (15 of which are HD), 30 extra radio channels and the options to add on Netflix, Amazon Prime and/or NOW TV paid subscriptions.

What will I need?

A fibre broadband connection

In order to receive TalkTalk’s fibre services, you will need a fibre optic connection at your property. Fibre is now widely available as standard, but might be limited in some areas. You can use our availability checker at the top of the page to see if it is on offer in your area.

A wireless router

To receive an internet connection, you will need a wireless router. TalkTalk offers a free router with its broadband packages, which will provide a strong, fast and reliable signal in your home, allowing you to make the most of your Wi-Fi coverage.

How do I switch?

Choose the right package

You can choose a TalkTalk TV, broadband and phone package from the table above. By clicking the ‘more info’ button on the package, you’ll get a breakdown of each plan. This will give you information on a number of features, including extra costs and pricing. Once you have made a selection, click on the ‘Get Deal’ button, where you’ll be redirected to the provider’s website to finalise your purchase.

Cancellation is often automatic

If you are switching from another provider you won’t have to let them know you’re cancelling, as your new provider will do that for you. The one exception is Virgin Media. If you’re switching to or from Virgin, you have to let both providers know about your desire to cancel. If you don’t, you might end up paying for two services.

Cable.co.uk recommends

Now you have all the information you need, before you commit, it’s worth thinking about your budget, how often you use the internet and your home phone and how many TV channels you want. This should then help you to compare TalkTalk packages and make your decision.
